Ty David Lerman
(he/him)
PhD, LPC-S, CST, QTAP, CHt
SWPA Owner
Ty (he/him) is the current Owner of SWPA after practicing with the group since 2016.
He specializes in supporting clients as they explore their relationship to sex and their body, including: kink, gender identity and sexual expression, sexual shame, religious trauma, exploration of ethical non-monogamy (ENM) relationship structures, and embracing eroticism in everyday life.
His work has been featured in the New York Times, The Washington Post, Cosmopolitan Magazine, Men’s Health, Refinery29, and Great Day Houston with Deborah Duncan, and he has been recognized as the “Best Male Mental Health Therapist” by OutSmart Magazine every year from 2018-2022.
Ty helps clients develop an understanding of why they do what they do and why specific feelings exist. Once this insight is surfaced, he helps clients decide what – if anything – needs to be done about it. He is passionate about supporting clients as they navigate the process of gaining clarity and building the tools necessary to implement desired changes in their lives.
